It was jubilation galore yesterday in the capital city of Imo State, Owerri with the return of the state governor, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha who had been away for weeks since after the protracted guber election in Imo State.
Our reporter who monitored events from Sam Mbakwe Airport, observed that the capital city is now in frenzy mood as expectations are now high for government activities which are expected to put things in good perspective for May 29 swearing-in.
It could be recalled that the governor after the guber elections travelled abroad to rest as well as re-strategise for his second term in office.
Addressing the crowd who came to greet him at the airport, the governor-elect promised to give Imo the best in the next four years pointing out that free education, factory and job creation will take centre stage.
No doubt, every preparation for the May 29 handover ceremony will be accelerated as the governor’s arrival is expected to put all concerned on their toes while other businesses that need the number one citizen’s attention will also get the required attention.
