The newly upgraded Alvan Ikoku University of Education Owerri has been blessed with two persons who will oversee the functions and administration of the institution.
As part of the last minute appointments of outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan, Alhaji Najib Hussain Adamu, CON, (Emir of Kazaum, Katsina State and Prof Sadiq Zubar Aubakar have been appointed chancellor and Vice-Chancellor of the new University respectively.
Ironically, the appointments which are with immediate effect show that the two persons to oversee affairs of ALVAN are from the Northern part of he country.
In similar circumstance, HRH, Eze Prof Green Nwankwo, OON, Eze Ohazurume 1 of Aro Amuro Autonomous Community of Okigwe in Imo State was handed the Chancellorship position of the Federal University of Education Zari, Kaduna State with Prof Ibrahim Kolo to act as maiden VC.
