The reported brouhaha rocking the office of the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly over appointment of aides of his erstwhile assistants has prompted the immediate past Speaker, Benjamin Uwajumogu to call his aides to order by alerting them to stay clear of the office of the Speaker now occupied by newly-elected Acho Ihim.
Clash of interests between aides of the former Speaker, Uwajumogu and appointment-seeking Okigwe people where Ihim hails from, has been rocking the office of the Speaker of late .
While the Uwajumogu people have decided to play along wanting to be retained, the Okigwe elements sympathetic to Ihim are not ready to let go.
Apparently worried by the disturbing development, Uwajumogu summoned all his aides to a meeting at his Imo Housing Estate home, Umuguma road, New Owerri on Monday to read the riot act to them. At the meeting, Trumpeta was reliably informed that the Speaker emeritus strictly warmed his lieutenants to keep off from the Speaker’s office, until any of them is considered worthy for a position.
Uwajumogu, however informed them that plans are underway to have four of them in the employ of the new Speaker warning them that anybody doing so is at his own risk. The ex-lawmaker had told them that it is the turn of people of Okigwe State constituency to enjoy the booty of the office since Ihim is from there.
Trumpeta further learnt that two persons, the former Chief Security Officer and one Ifeanyi Nwannena incharge of protocol have already been picked by Ihim.
