The brouhaha about who functions as the Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Owerri may soon resume as the court has cleared the out-of-favour erstwhile director, Dr (Mrs) Angela Uwakwem of any misdeed.
FMC, Owerri has been in the news for wrong reasons following persistent altercation between Uwakwem and a section of the workers who insist she must not function as MD. Intervention from the Federal Government calm frayed nerves when she was removed based on alleged misconduct while in office.
However, Uwakwem is set to return as the Federal High Court, Owerri has dismissed all the charges leveled against her which resulted to her suspension as FMC MD. The coast is now clearer for Uwakwem to resume duty and possibly complete her truncated tenure.
Trumpeta somehow learnt that fresh hurdle may be on the way of Uwakwem following a petition raised against her based on alleged corrupt practices which was sent to the EFCC during her hey days as MD. EFCC, after investigation charged the matter to an Owerri High Court where the lawyers of the suspended MD of FMC are battling to get her off the hook.
