The reported decision of the Senator representing Orlu zone, Senator Hope Uzodinma to pitch tent with APC is hanging in the balance as the move has been put on hold.
This newspaper last week reported of a hot romance between Uzodinma and the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, signaling the Senator’s possible move to APC with his followers from PDP.
Trumpeta went further to state that Uzodinma’s romance with Okorocha may not be unconnected to his rumoured desire to get another ticket to be in the National Assembly again while backing the ambition of the governor’s son in-law.
Though, the Orlu zone Senator has debunked any attempt to back Chief Uche Nwosu’s governorship project, but Trumpeta was informed that the new disposition of Uzodinma to Okorocha is borne out of the latter’s insistence on running for Senate.
The decision of Okorocha to insist on gunning for the Senate Seat of Imo West and not allowing Uzodinma to grab it in APC has not only thrown the serving Senator off balance, but also has threatened his reported move to the broom symbol party.
It was learnt that Okorocha had earlier agreed to a pact with the Senator for a common interest that would sooth each other’s political aspiration for 2019 until the new twist.
Uzodinma’s camp is said to be seriously taken aback by the new posture of Okorocha to run for senate thereby foreclosing the Senator’s chances to have an easy grab of the APC for next general election.
Okorocha had made intention to run for senate when Uzodinma in an interview granted a National Daily months ago, made a scathing remark about the Rescue Mission administration in Imo State. The governor had stated that he would not leave the position to others to snatch it away.
In another release, Okorocha dismissed reports that he wants Uzodinma’s assistance to deliver his son inlaw in 2019 by stating that he never used identity of big names to achieve electoral victory in 2011 and 2015.
The above assertion is said to be worrying Uzodinma who is alleged to be reconsidering defecting to APC from PDP.
