One of the frontline politicians in Imo State and guber aspirant in the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Hon Chukwuma Ekomaru (SAN), has blasted Governor Rochas Okorocha for allegedly using youths of Ohaji/Egbema as thugs.
He made this statement at the PDP State Secretariat along Okigwe road, Thursday shortly after a protest rally held by members of the party against police brutality on PDP faithful in Ekiti State. Ekomaru who addressed the press raised eye brows on the idea of using the boys from Ohaji to destroy peoples properties, intimidate political opponents and course trouble in Imo State.
He alleged that governor Okorocha who he claimed has turned the youths into tugs recently used them to demolish shops and other valuable properties in Owerri.
“He however noted that the governor should have used youths from Ogboko his home town instead of Ohaji people”, Ekomaru submitted.
Speaking further, the legal expert pledged that the elders from Ohaji should call their youths to order before the meet their doom, adding that Ohaji is seen as the food basket of Imo State and not where tugs are being trained.
Ekomaru also declared that he is the best among equals in the governorship race. He insisted that if he eventually emerged as PPP candidate winning APC in Imo State will be very easy. He therefore urged Imolites fight the war of imposition of candidate and not to allow Okorocha to succeed in his plan to hand over power to his son in-law Uche Nwosu in 2019.
On the issue of impeachment of Imo Deputy Governor, he advised Madumere to resign immediately in order to avoid disgrace out of office as the number two (2) citizen of Imo State. He explained that Prince Eze Madumere can’t continue as Deputy Governor since he has joined the coalition group that is currently opposing Okorocha’s position in APC in Imo State.
