Imolites on Monday were thrown into ecstasy as the final collation and announcement of the 2019 Imo Governorship results were made public with the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, guber candidate, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha finally stopping Gov Rochas Okorocha and his son in-law, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.
According to the results of the 27 Local Government Areas announced that started on Sunday and finally come to a close on Monday, March 11, 2019 the former speaker of the Federal House of Representatives emerged winner with a total number of 277,002 votes while his closest contestant, Chief Uche Nwosu of the Action Alliance who was heavily backed by Governor Okorocha polled 195,364.
Other contestants, such as Chief Ifeanyi Araraume and Senator Hope Uzodinma of APGA and APC came third and fourth respectively.
