Despite announcing results of the Okigwe North Federal Constituencies and that of Okigwe South, nothing has been heard of the senate.
Two weeks after elections, the eventual winner of the Imo North Senatorial contest is yet to be made public even as Chike Okafor and Obinna Onwubuariri has been declared winners of Ihitte Uboma, Obowo/Ehime Mbano, and Isiala Mbano/ Onuimo/Okigwe Federal Constituencies respectively.
Though rumours have been rife that the APC candidate, Senator Ben Uwajumogu carried the day, but the camp of other parties in the contest especially PDP’s Patrick Ndubueze think otherwise and is claiming victory.
Trumpeta learnt that after the re-run elections, items concerning Okigwe zone were taken to Abuja. Trumpeta could not verify reasons behind the action but top sources revealed that it may not be unconnected to unconfirmed sources that the national office is interested in the outcome.
Apart from Uwajumogu and Ndubueze, APGA and AA have candidates who took part in the election.
