Except something positive happens soonest, graduates of Imo State University may miss-out from the next batch of the National Youth Service Corp program, following the ongoing strike action by the school Non Academic staff Union.
A source close to the institution reliably informed Trumpeta that for some days members of the school’s non-academic staff have been on strike in demand for their unpaid entitlements.
Although the source who pleaded anonymity for fear of victimization didn’t reveal details of the cause of the non-academic staff strike action but this paper gathered that they are being owed some months of their salaries.
Some graduates who are ready for NYSC call –up as Trumpeta gathered may miss out from the service, owing to the strike action as they may not be able to finish the clearance and get properly included into the list of qualified graduates for the next batch of Youth Corp members.
