Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma has given an indication that his Government will recover all encroached Zoo areas with the view of rehabilitating it as a tourist center.
Uzodinma told journalists that his administration is aware that some individuals have encroached in some parts of the Zoo, but maintained that his Government will definitely recover it for optimal use of the center.
He announced that his regime will not relent in recovering all looted Government properties irrespective of how highly placed the looters are.
According to the Governor, plans are underway to link the Owerri Industrial area with both power and gas line as part of rehabilitating and making it functional again.
He further explained that his administration has perfected arrangements to appoint new permanent secretaries, but insists that it will be based on merit and qualifications.
Pointing out that they must pass through an examination to be conducted by the state Government.
He announced that his administration has signed an MOU worth three million dollars with UNIDO for the rehabilitation of moribund industries in the state.
