The honourable member representing Ohaji Egbema constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Luke Chukwu, has urged Gov Rochas to release fertilizer to Imo farmers for this farming season. He said this at the House sitting on a motion urging the Gov to release fertilizer and on time. “The continuous emission of gas and oil in our lands has caused poor fertility of the soil. I therefore call on Gov. Rochas to release fertilizer that would aid in food production for Imolites”.
Majority of the Hon Members supported the motion. One of them is Hon. Adaku Ihuoma and she said that majority of the farmers are rural women and really need the fertilizer. Hon Ihuoma said that the women are ready to buy fertilizer even if it is subsidized rate and demanded for its availability in this farming season.
