Imo Govt Asks State Radio/TV To Vacate Premises

An air of insecurity and uncertainty has beclouded the entire premises Imo Broadcasting Corporation,IBC, Owerri following a purported quit notice painted on all structures in IBC compound along Akanchawa road, new Owerri.

The day broke normally for Staff of the Corporation as they were busy in their offices executing the office chores when suddenly they saw two Hilux trucks and a black bus drive fiercely into the compound at about 3.35pm this Wednesday (28/10/26).

An eyewitness, a Staff, who pleaded anonymity, told Trumpeta Correspondent, “as soon as we saw them driving in, we started peeping through our office windows to know what was happening”.

According to him, the occupants of the vehicles were personnel of the State Monitoring and Compliance team led by somebody he simply Described as Tapee.

He said before they would know it the visitors had painted almost the whole buildings with red inscriptions “VACATE WITHIN 72 HOURS BY IMSG 28/10/26”.

The narrator said they displayed in a “commando style” and drove away the way they came.

At the time of filing this report, the Director-General of the Corporation, Chief Ify Onyegbule was said to have rushed to the Ministry possibly for consultations.
