A member of the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Ikechukwu Amuka is expected to appear in court today to stand trial over case of forgery leveled against him by Barr Chief Cletus O.C. Ezeribe.
Ezeribe went to Federal High Court in Abuja in suit FHC/ABJ/CS 772 to institute a case against Amuka, member representing Ideato South, where the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Eustace Amuka, UAEC and INEC are also co-defendants.
The plaintiff/complainant went to court to seek Amuka’s ouster on the basis that he allegedly does not possess the basic requirement to qualify to be elected on the basis that the WAEC certificate was forged.
Among the relief sought by Ezeribe was for INEC to withdraw certificate of return granted to Amuka and declare his seat vacant.
Initially the case came up in Abuja but was transferred to the Federal High Court Owerri for hearing.
