The Imo state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has tasked engineers to always live up to expectation in the advancement of infrastructure in the country.
The governor stated this at Government House Owerri when the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Nigerian Association of Technologists Engineering (NATE) and Imo Young Engineers Corp paid him a courtesy visit.
Governor Okorocha, who described engineering as a key profession in the development of the nation, expressed the desire of his administration to partner with the engineers in the development of the state.
He disclosed that plans by government to ensure that only certified engineers in the state will be engaged in executing government jobs so as to give indigenous engineers the sense of belonging.
Governor Okorocha emphasized the need for engineers to contribute positively in the development of Nigeria and Imo state.
Earlier, the chairman, Nigerian Society of Engineers Imo state branch, Engr. Emmanuel Obiako Ossai, thanked Governor Okorocha for his vision in the Imo Youth Engineers Corps and applauded him for his monumental achievements in the state especially in the area of infrastructural development, road construction and urged him to continue in the same pace for the benefit of Imo people.
