The Imo State Ministry of Finance has presented their quarterly report on achievements made so far and the way forward. They also used the medium to recognize their Commissioners and Permanent secretaries since the inception of the ministry.
The Commissioner for finance, Deacon Chike Okafor in his address, said that this is the third time of meeting since the inception of this administration. Deacon Okafor also said that the event has served its two purposes which is to look at the Ministry’s score cards, their challenges and the way forward, while the other purpose is to recognize people that served in the ministry.
The Chief of Staff to Imo State Government Jude Ejiogu praised the Staffers for being diligent to service, but warned all to tighten their belt as the Rescue Mission Governor is in a hurry to improve the State. He reinstated the governor’s zeal to remain labour friendly and promised to pay staff their salaries as at when due.
Imo State first Lady, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, in her contribution, thanked the Staff and said that the next award would be given to the committed staff and not only the past ones. She also thanked the commercial banks that sponsored the Ministry of Finance quarterly report, and urged them to extend their kind gesture to other Ministries.
The high point of the event was the recognition and presentation of awards to Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries of the ministries, including Prof Henry Njoku, Dr (Mrs.) Nkechi Onumajulu, Mr. Evans Uzokwe and others.
