he Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Imo state Chapter, has commiserated with the Imo state chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) over the death of Mr Adolphus Okonkwo of the Voice of Nigeria (VON) who died in a ghastly car accident on his way back to Lagos from Abuja where he covered an official assignment.
In a condolence message on behalf of the party and signed by Chief Blyden Amajirionwu, state publicity secretary, the PDP also expressed shock over the death of two other members of the union in the same accident. The party regretted that Mr. Okonkwo died at his prime after playing a vital role in the development of journalism in Nigeria, stressing he will be forever be remembered for the outstanding competence he exhibited in the profession.
While the PDP prayed God to grant the fallen men of the pen profession a eternal rest in His bossom, it expressed regret that the entire nation will miss them and others who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident.
