Q; May we know you sir?

 

A; my name is Ugochukwu Moses Nlemibe, artist name “FREELANCE” studio name “BIG BOYZ ACADEMY”

“BIG BOYZ ACADEMY” is a label owned by U.Z.O who is an artist inLagosand we have signed 5 artists under the label while an additional two are still on probation.

 

Q; what kind of songs do you do, as a producer and as a musician?

 

A; I do more of dance hall, rap, hip pop, R&B and gospel, while personally I do dance hall, rap and R&B as a musician.

 

Q: How did it all started for you as a musician and a producer?

 

A; I started as a n artist at the tender age of 16, then I was in my SS2, after which I started trying my fingers on music production, with the help of skilled professionals in Lagos, and Imo state I became a name to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry, and my studio started when I had little problem when I was working with GB studios at Uratta- MCC road, Owerri, we have a mild mis-understanding which made me go else where freelancing from one studio to another before I brought up the idea of establishing a recording studio here I Owerri

 

Q; How do you combine school activities, music show and music production?

 

A; My brother it hasn’t been easy, but with God on my side am doing my best in blending both as a student, a musician and a music producer.

 

Q; if I may ask, what institution do you attend, and what course?

 

A; I am a student ofImoStateUniversity, actually in my final year, studying mass-communication,

 

Q; what do you do apart from music?

 

A; am into acting, modeling and dancing, generally I am into entertainment.

 

Q; what is your take on the Nigerian entertainment industry today?

 

A; the Nigerian entertainment industry is really growing fast and its big business for those who know how….

 

 

Q; what is your take on musical reality shows in Nigeria?

 

A; truly the musical reality shows have made the Nigerian music industry a relevant and more important event every season, because in Nigeria today our music is one of the most exportable commodity apart from the crude and it has became a huge business for intending investor and we see it as helping the industry to develop faster competing with that of the developed world (Americans).

 

Q; have you been in any reality show before?

 

A; NO!

Q; assuming you have the time which reality show would you love to contest?

 

A; Star Mega Jamz

 

Q; are you married or currently in a relationship sir?

 

A; am not married but in a serious relationship….

 

Q; what are your fans expecting from you as a musician and as a producer?

 

A; I am dropping my album by December titled “MY TIME”

as a producer, I have some couple of joints which I had done for people and have made beats for some top artists recently, like; Kelly handsome, Bobby Flow, Free Windz, DIPP and many others as their joint will be hitting the air waves soon, probably before the end of this year.

 

Q; what are your challenges as a producer and a recording artist?

 

A; it has not been easy for me, most times I tend to put more effort on people’s works and ideas than when it come to mine, but anyway I try my best just to make the best, as a producer and a musician.

 

Q; do your work affect your family and relationship?

 

A; yeah! It does, because I am into music more than any other thing, and it is most especially making my relationship uneasy because I spend most of my time working at the studio at the studio. “Am married to the studio” but those that understands come to the studio to see me and I appreciate it a lot.

My parent never wanted me to do music, so I convince them by telling them that I am into the practice as a professional, they accepted but with conditions of continuing with my tertiary education and I accepted, today I am grateful to them because I can say I really practice more as a Mass-communication student, communicating to the people through my musical works.

 

Q; what is your advice for your fans, young and up coming artist?

 

A; keep up the struggle and do good music, because people loves good music “as a golden fish has no hiding place”, and don’t follow the trend of some of our known super-stars in the industry, work hard, and for my fans, just keep the fire burning, I love you all…
