Eze Emmanuel Njemanze, Ozuruigbo V of Owere, the paramount ruler of Owere Nchise recently at his make shift palace in New Owerri criticized both state governments and the federal government for abandoning the development of University Communities in modern Universities in the country contrary to what obtains in some foremost Nigerian Universities like the University Nigeria of Nsukka, and the University of Ibadan which could have been a reference point in establishing new ones.

The paramount ruler disclosed his disappointment when the 10th Governing Council and University management of FUTO paid a courtesy call on him at his make shift palace. He stressed that the nose dive experience in the education standard of University graduates can be attributed to the lack of good university community where the academic and non academic staffers lived with students for easy access and monitoring.

Ozuruigbo charged governments at all levels to include the establishment of University Communities  in there education return programmes as well as mandate private Universities to do same in order to save the bed-ridden education system of Nigeria.

wondered why a university like FUTO does not have an existing community inspite of the vast land allotted to it by host community, He pointed out that University Community is a bed rock of  all academic pursuits.
