Outgoing Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has pleaded with the management of the National Assembly not to push his members out of the complex.
Ihedioha who recently assumed the Speakership position following the exit of the Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, now governor of Sokoto State, was worried that National Assembly officials were trying to stop House of Reps members from making use of their offices at the complex.
The Acting Speaker made his feelings known during plenary session on Tuesday. He frowned at a recent memo from the management to members urging them to vacate their offices by May 18 with the view to renovating all the offices ahead of the inauguration of the 8th Assembly.
While asking his members to go about their activities without intimidation, Ihedioha noted that he would meet with the Clerk for an amicable resolution of the matter.
