It has been a bumper roller coaster Xmas for supporters of Distinguished Senator Ben Uwajumogu in the 6 LGAs of Okigwe Zone as reports have it that he doled out Christmas gifts worth about N100million to his party men and members of his campaign organization during the yuletide season.
On Boxing day, at the Obowo LGA country home of a Port-Harcourt based Oil Mogul, Chief Emeka Williams, Sen. Ben Uwajumogu called on party leaders and members to work assiduously for the electoral success of APC at the general election in February and March. He added that the opportunities and benefits of an APC government to Okigwe zone was enormous. He thanked Chief Williams for donating trailer loads of rice to the party. Various party leaders commended the Senator for his development and empowerment programmes in the zone.
At the Okigwe LGA residence of a two time member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Matthew Omegara, Senator Ben Uwajumogu urged the people to vote enmass for President Buhari, Senator Hope Uzodinma for Imo Guber and Princess Miriam Onuoha for Okigwe North Federal House of Representatives. He drew the attention of the mammoth crowd to several Federal govt projects scattered in the South East and Imo State. In his remarks, Hon Omegara thanked the Imo North Senator for his Xmas gifts and assured that his re-election into the Senate was already in the bag. Hon Omegara promised to galvanize support for President Buhari, Senator Hope Uzodinma and Princess Miriam Onuoha
Speaking while being received at Onuimo LGA, Senator Ben Uwajumogu urged the people to vote for Senator Hope Uzodinma as Governor. He enumerated the campaign manifesto of Sen. Uzodinma and pointed out the divine circumstances that threw up Sen. Uzodinma as the gubernatorial candidate of APC. In his reaction, an APC Chieftain and former Federal lawmaker, Barr Mike Ohia commended the Senator for the huge Xmas gifts to party members and pledged the support of Onuimo LGA APC towards the electoral success of all the candidates of the party at all levels.
At another parley at Isiala Mbano LGA, the former Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly extolled the virtues of the APC Guber Candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma. He called on leaders of the party to campaign vigorously for all the candidates of the party.
In an interview with reporters, Senator Uwajumogu stated that the distribution of Christmas gifts was a way to show appreciation to his supporters for standing by him through thick and thin in the past two and half years as a Senator. He reiterated the strong desire of the people of Okigwe zone to vote enmass for APC and equally called for a violence free elections.
The former Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly added that the Federal government has approved the construction of a standard gauge railway line to connect all major cities in the South East.
In an exclusive interview with our reporter, the Special Adviser to the Senator on Political Matters, Hon Chief Kingsley Ndubueze disclosed that the Senator decided to visit each LGA and interact with his supporters instead of the usual practice of bringing everyone to a single location for the Christmas gifts. He added that the essence of the LGA visitations were to have a first-hand knowledge of the progress and challenges of the party and campaign organization in each LGA. He commended the Senator for his kind gesture to the party and campaign organization.
Hon Chief Kingsley Ndubueze informed that the Senator will soon commence his campaign tour of the 64 wards in Okigwe Zone.
