The member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency and APC candidate for the race, Hon Chike Okafor is still on in the quest to become a second term lawmaker in the green chamber.
Trumpeta had in earlier report included Okafor as one of the lawmakers likely to be missed in the Federal House in the coming dispensation.
The report of the newspaper on Okafor was based on earlier indications on the outcome of results collected. A source who preferred anonymity confirmed to the editorial desk that though there were complaints and possible cancellation of the results but from what was available the PDP candidate, Rt Hon Jonas Okeke was coasting home with victory and likely to be declared the winner.
However, the result has not been declared indicating that Okafor is still on and has not bowed out as earlier reported.
The newspaper regrets the inconveniences the report may have caused Okafor and his supporters in APC and wishes him best of luck.
