If urgent measures are not taken, motorists and road users may not access Shell Camp Police quarters and the surrounding environment any more. The roads leading to the barrack from the police headquarters/ SS gate and Alvan / Works layout road are in terrible conditions. Since those in charge of the present government blocked all access roads to the place, residents of the barrack, especially policemen, SSS operatives and visitors alike have been going through hell on the road. There is no day a vehicle will not be stuck on the pool of water infront of the SSS office. Any vehicle that manages to pass the bad spot otherwise known as “SSS late” will not only have its body badly coloured with mud but also may visit a mechanic for repairs. The road is lamenting. It is worthy to note that while the new road created from the Whetheral Road/Govt House roundabout by state library is receiving serious attention, thatShell Camp Roadhas been abandoned.
It is only an insensitive government that will fail to provide an access road before blocking the main road used by motorists.
