Resident of Umuguma town in Owerri West LGA and their Imo Housing Estate neighbors in New Owerri were jolted few days ago when a two year old boy was found in the bush inOgbosisiVillage, Umuguma.
The boy who was slightly debased and acting like a mentally deranged person was found inside the bush with hands and neck tied with rope. A couple who went to farm in the bush near Imo Housing Estate our reporter gathered noticed the boy’s movement before they rescued him and reported the matter with the boy at the Federal Housing Estate Police post on Road 19, New Owerri.
At the Police station, the little boy who looked pale, and weak demonstrated certain clumsy characters that inhibited him from stating his identify and why he was found inside a bush farm alone. When offered water and biscuit at the police post, the kid could not chew or drink the items effectively.
When contacted, the officer in charge of the station (name withheld) was not available, while other policemen declined comments on the matter.
It was gathered that the boy was later transferred to the state police command headquarters in Owerri for further investigation.
