.Eleven Aspirants Collect Forms

There is certainly going to be an implosion within the Labour Party, in Imo State, as over Eleven Governorship Aspirants of the party have obtained the twenty five (N25m) worth Governorship form.

However, this Newspaper learnt that there is heavy plot and gang up to make sure that Chief Martin Agbaso does not pick the Governorship ticket of the Party.

Already, the list of those who have collected the forms have bloated up to Eleven Aspirants and more are coming.

Meanwhile, Trumpeta was told that fear of Chief Martin Agbaso has become a big issue within the Imo Labour Party Aspirants.

Sources said that it was because of Martin Agbaso that there are plans to change the Imo State Working Committee of the party and bring in a Caretaker Committee to run the affairs of the party.

Trumpeta learnt that some forces outside Imo Labour Party are working through some of the Aspirants to stop the emergence of Agbaso, seen as a strong candidate that can give the incumbent Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma a tough fight for his money on November 11, 2023 election.

Sources said that Agbaso already has an existing relationship with Mr Peter Obi, Labour Party Presidential Candidate, and the fear that if Agbaso is not stopped now, he may emerge the party’s candidate and goes ahead to clinch the main election diadem.

A reliable source who spoke to Trumpeta said that it has remained a surprise how some Labour Party Governorship Aspirants “who have been managing life since, have suddenly grown rich to acquire twenty five million naira Governorship form”.

However, the main issue is that Chief Agbaso is said to be battling his detractors too, as he would not want to be drowned by political wolfs.

“Agbaso is a tested political Trojan. He will also try to defend himself as it is only a tree that stands in a place as Knives are pulled to cut it” a source told Trumpeta.

But political pundits are worried that Labour Party seen as another an alternative party that can wrestle APC and Uzodinma down in Imo State is being infiltrated like Imo PDP by outsiders to divide and weaken the party.

Already those who have purchased the party’s Gubernatorial Form include Rt Hon Kelechi Nwagwu, Chief Martin Agbaso, Chief Basil Maduka, AIG Ugomuoh (rtd) Senator Attan Achonu, Chief Humphrey Anumudu, Hon Ike Ibeh, Dr James Okoroma and others.
