The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma has Commiserated with the family of late Elder Statesman and foremost Parliamentarian,Dr Basil Nnnanna Ukaegbu.

He assured the Family that Imo State will actively be involved in the burial ceremony,asserting that the Sage will go home in State Burial.

The Governor made these assurances when the Nnnanna Ukaegbu National Burial Committee,led By Bar George Eke paid him a courtesy call in Imo Government House.

The Governor eulogized late Dr Nnnanna Ukaegbu, especially his contributions in the area of Education where he even spearhead the first Indigenous and Private University in Africa,TEDEM University.

Uzodimma pointed out that Nnnanna Ukaegbu was not only a fine Politician and Nationalist but also an astutude Legislator and therefore promised to Communicate the National Assembly of his demise.

For easy access and smooth burial of Nnnanna Ukaegbu the Governor promised to Mobilize Contractors to fix the road leading to Ukaegbu’s ancestral home,Umafor, Imerienwe in Ngor Okpala LGA.

He sympathized with the people of Ngor Okpala in particular and Imo State in general over the death of the Statesman, Politician,Nationalist and Educationist.

Earlier,the Chairman of the Burial Committee,Bar George Eke had sought for Imo Government’s support in making the burial a Success and thanked the Governor for giving the Committee his time in audience.

In the entourage include Bar George Eke,Bar Enyinna Unuegbu, Chief Charles Amadi(Charlvon)Okenze Sylvester Obinna,AVM Remy Eke(rtd) Chief Val Okere,Dr Ethelbert Okere, Dr Andrew Ukaegbu and Mrs Chika Ibekwe.
