Ohaji/Egbema Residents Commend Uzodimma, Amadioha, Security Agencies Over Improved Security

Residents and stakeholders in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State have commended Governor Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Amadioha, and security agencies for what they described as remarkable efforts towards restoring peace and security across the area. The commendation followed growing signs of improved security in communities previously troubled by criminal activities and other social vices, with residents attributing the development to stronger local security coordination and decisive administrative measures.

Speaking during a random assessment of the security situation in the council area, residents and stakeholders praised the executive chairman for demonstrating what they described as uncommon administrative leadership, political sagacity and effective managerial capacity in confronting security challenges. They noted that rather than allowing the situation to overwhelm the local administration, Amadioha has consistently worked with the state government, traditional institutions, community stakeholders and security agencies to strengthen security coordination and protect residents, businesses and other economic activities across the LGA.

In an interview, the executive chairman expressed appreciation to Governor Uzodimma and the various security agencies for their support and cooperation, while declaring that Ohaji/Egbema had, to a greater extent, been rescued from the grip of criminal elements. He, however, acknowledged that a few alleged ringleaders were still at large, stressing that security agencies remained committed to tracking them down and bringing them to justice. His remarks, according to stakeholders, underscored the importance of sustained vigilance rather than premature celebration of the gains already recorded.

Amadioha further disclosed that information reportedly obtained from some suspects in security custody had pointed to the alleged involvement of unexpected personalities in the attacks and criminal activities troubling parts of the LGA. He warned those allegedly sponsoring or perpetrating such acts to retrace their steps, stressing that no individual would remain beyond the reach of the law. He also maintained that available indications did not support attempts to attribute the disturbances to IPOB, ESN or so-called unknown gunmen, urging the public to allow security agencies to complete their investigations before drawing conclusions.

The emerging security situation, stakeholders observed, has further highlighted the value of purposeful grassroots leadership capable of translating government policy into practical action. They credited Amadioha’s administration with combining political maturity, managerial discipline and strategic engagement with relevant authorities to confront a complex security challenge, while urging residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies. They also appealed to Governor Uzodimma to sustain his administration’s support for security operations in Ohaji/Egbema, noting that lasting peace remains essential to unlocking the area’s enormous agricultural, industrial and economic potential.
