The baby factory “Sector” seems to be booming in the State despite concerted efforts by the Imo State Government and other security agencies to curtail trend in the State.
Last week, a former Imo State Security Network Cordinator for Aboh –Mbaise LGA, (names withheld) was alleged to be operating an illegal baby factory.
The “baby factory” has been ongoing for a long time, until it caught the eagle eyes of security forces that recently burst the outlet and apprehended the perpetrators. The baby- making factory is said to be located at Nkwo Ogwu in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area.
Trumpeta was informed that among those whisked away include pregnant women who were found in sorry and pitiable conditions. A police source confirmed the story to this newspaper.
When contacted on phone, the PPRO, Imo State Police Command, Joy Elemeoko said that investigation is on to unravel the involvement of the Governor’s aide. He said such person is not in custody of the state police headquarters that the police busted a “baby factory in Aboh-Mbaise.
She refused to squeal further details. The suspected aide is said to be cooling his heels in the cell of the State Police Command, telling them what he knows about the baby factory.
It will be recalled that a fortnight ago, a baby factory was uncovered at Umuaka, Njaba LGA where pregnant women were rescued.
There were also reported tales of such acts at Umuguma in Owerri North LGA.
