The crisis that has hunted the Imo State Chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) since Governor Rochas Okorocha joined the APC, has accentuated to an unprecedented level.
APGA in Imo split into two shortly after Okorocha’s declaration for APC. While Marshal Okafor Anyanwu heads the pro Okorocha group, another splinter group is led by Dr Emeka Ukaegbu, Chief Ejike Uche and Tony Mgbeahuruike.
Yesterday, the Ukaegbu group came out smoking unleashing its onslaught against the Anyanwu faction.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, Chief Tony Mgbeahuruike, APGA Owerri Zone Chairman, emphatically said that Marshal Okafor Anyanwu is not a member of APGA, stating that he ceases to be an APGA member since he has joined the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He wondered how Governor Okorocha could claim to be in APGA when he and Okafor have jumped over to the APC, emphasizing that Imo APGA will never merge with APC, as APGA is confident of victory in the next elections in Imo State.
When contacted for his reaction, the Imo APGA Chairman, Prince Marshal Anyanwu declined to speak on the matter saying he is away in Abuja
