Determined to reposition the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in the South East geo-political Zone, there are indications that the party hierarchy has appointed Chief Martin Agbaso the leader of the Anambra Gubernational Screening Committee.
This action is coming at the heels of concerted effort by the National Leadership of the party to restructure it ahead of the Anambra Governorship election coming up in the next few months and the general elections in 2015 in the country.
Impeccable report available to Trumpeta Newspaper suggest that Chief Agbaso’s choice to lead the governorship screening of the party is to give room for a transparent and unbiased exercise in that state.
It was further gathered that the decision of the party to ensure the emergence of a credible candidate to avoid imposition of unpopular candidates for the election.
And again to guide against the situation where money bags will hijack the party against the wishes and ideologies of the party faithfuls.
Investigations further has it that worried at the activities of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State before his suspension from the party, APGA has vowed to do everything within its powers to ensure that the party reclaims Imo and Anambra States as well as other South East States the forthcoming elections in the country.
The recognition may have re-affirmed Agbaso’s stronghold of what has remained of APGA after Okorocha pulled out with his allies to join newly formed APC.
