Achonu Set To Floor Uwajumogu, Onwunna

Except the unexpected happens, which is most unlikely as at yesterday March 2015, Chief Athan Nneji Achonu (One-Arm General) has clearly emerged as the favourite to clinch the Okigwe senatorial seat come March 28, 2015.
A survey carried by some journalists in Imo state has seen the One- Arm General, Chief Achonu favoured to beat Mazi Clem Owunna of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Ben Uwajumogu of All Progressive Congress, (APC) to second and third places.
The survey which cut across tracers, school children, civil servants, political leaders and opinion moulders; saw Chief Achonu emerged victorious art nearly 60 % of the votes to be cast.
The survey concentrated on those with valid voters card and who are sure to cast their vote on March baring any unforeseen circumstances.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate was seen as a forthright personality and one who would not seek power for personal enrichment. The survey discovered that Chief Achonu’s brand of politics of not splashing money any how even when he appears to be richer than his opponents showed him as a principled politician. A local government-by-local government appreciation of the survey shows that Chief Achonu would have an outright victory in four local governments- Obowo, Ihitte/Uboma, Ehime Mbano and Isiala Mbano. He would also make an impressive outing in Onuimo and Okigwe Local Government Areas. In Obowo it will be 56% for Achonu, 35% for Uwajumogu and 7% for owunna and 2% to be split between UPP candidate and Chief Bently Aghazie.
For Ihitte /Uboma, Achonu would score 55%, 30% for Uwajumogu while 15% would be between Owunna, Aghazie and Bar of UPP in Ehime Mbano, Chief Achonu in set to garner over 80% of the votes while Owunna and Uwajumogu would clinch second and third positions. For Isiala Mbano Mazi Clem Owunna would make an impressive outing with over 40%, while Chief Achonu would hover around 49% with Uwajumogu securing up to 10%.
Onuimo will see Owunna securing about 45% same as Chief Achonu, while APC would take the third place. In Okigwe, Owunna wouid secure 48% beating Chief Achonu to second position with about 45%.
From the survey Chief Athan Achonu of PDP would emerge with a total of 55% of the Zones votes while Owunna will score 25.5% with Speaker Uwajumogu set to take the third position
