The seeming differences between Governor Rochas Okorocha and the Senator Representing Okigwe zone, Senator Ben Uwajumogu has eroded the rank and file of APC members in Okigwe zone with their Chieftains taking sides in the divide.

It could be recalled that there is no love lost between governor Okorocha and Senator Uwajumogu in recent times, leading to verbal exchanges and unpalatable remarks even in the public.

The frosty relationship has entered a dangerous stage with suspected lieutenants of Okorocha in the zone carrying the anti Uwajumogu war to the public.

At the constituency briefing/flagging off free medical program of the member Representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency, Chike Okafor, the issue of Uwajumogu dominated proceedings with the Chief host leading the onslaught.

Though Uwajumogu’s absence was conspicuous becasue it was an APC event in his zone, the venue offered the pro Okorocha allies who converged at the place to not only pour invectives on the Senator but also described how he won election through the governor’s help.

Leading the assult was Okafor who carefully explained how Uwajumogu went to the Senate, adding that if not the assistance of Okorocha who according to him mobilized the APC forces in the state to turn things around, there would not for have been any headway for the Senator, “Uwajumogu would have lost the election if not the help of Okorocha”. Chike Okafor submitted.

Speaking further, he expressed disappointment on the part of Uwajumogu for alleged ill treatment he melted to the Governor after all he has done to favour Okigwe him and other Okigwe zone politicians in APC.

He maintained that his own group must continue to reciprocate the good gesture of Governor Rochas Okorocha by giving him the absolute respect and support needed to succeed in governance.

Deacon Okafor who became dramatic during his constituency briefing at Obowo council headquarters on Monday, called on all the leaders of LGAs in the zone to mount the podium to testify on what he said about how Okorocha facilitated Uwajumogu’s election and they all stood up to acknowledge his speech. Some of the leaders from that area who spoke to our reporter at the venue of the constituency briefing raised eye brows on the attitude of Senator Ben Uwajumogu towards Governor Rochas Okorocha who according to them brought him was responsible for his political growth. The leaders also vowed to disown the Senator and possibly go for his recall if he refuses to turn a new leaf this time.

Some members of the opposition group who spoke in favour of senator Uwajumogu wonders why Okorocha should be on the Senator’s neck all the time. They also frowned at the speech presented by Chike Okafor as the described him as a betrayal.
