The International Electrical, Electronics and Automobile Market site at Naze/Nekede Owerri West LGA, received a boost when the Imo State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Ichie Uche Best Mbanaso, pledged the support of the state government for the speedy completion of the International market, which he described as the first and the best in the entire South East.

Hon Mbanaso made the pledge during his visit to the market site recently. While being conducted round the site by some of the stakeholders, Chairman Board of Trustee, Chief Marcellinus Nlemigbo and the land owners, the Commissioner commended both the developers, the land owners and the contractor for their understanding and vision. He also confirmed his satisfaction in what he saw on ground. He further assured the stakeholders that with what he has seen and the large land mass, more than 24 hectares acquired for other markets will be consolidated to INTEEAMAK.

In his speech, he charged all the parties involved in the project to brace up to the challenges, and never hesitated to call the attention/assistance of the government when and where it is needed in order to see to the completion and commissioning of the international market by the state Governor Rochas Okorocha in the next one year.

The project consultant, Mr Uche applauded the visit of the Commissioner, which he said is a step in the right direction, if INTEEAMAK dream will be a reality.

Explaining further, he disclosed that some banks have agreed to assist the traders in financing the project, and with the involvement of the state government as promised by the commissioner the dream is 50% realized. He itemized some facilities in the market to include Police station, fire service station, modern toilet and drainage facilities, banks, generators’ space to mention.

Some leaders of the land owners (Naze and Nekede) also expressed their happiness over the sitting of the market in the communities, as they pledged their community’s support and also urged the developers to keep to their agreements and bargains. They however warned against dilly dallying, playing politics or abandoning the project for a long time as they will not hesitate to take back the lands.
