The frightening dimension last weekend’s Imo State Governorship election witnessed, also recorded the death of a suspected party agent (names withheld) shot dead on Saturday.
A party agent to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been reportedly shot dead by suspected thugs belonging to political rival groups in Eziama Obire, Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo state.
Imo State Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, Orlando Ikeokwu, on Saturday confirmed this to newsmen in Owerri, adding that he would give details of the ugly development later including the name of the deceased.
However, this is coming few hours the Imo state commissioner of Police, Dazuki Galadanchi, said that five fake policemen were also arrested in Ideato South Local Government Area.
He further said that two Army officers were also arrested escorting a politician and that the said Army officers were not assigned for any election duty.
It was equally gathered that incidence of ballot box snatching and intimidation of voters occurred within the Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area.
