Today, Tuesday November 18,2019, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, will give judgment on the 2019 Imo Governorship election.
In March 11, 2019, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon Emeka Ihedioha winner of the keenly contested Imo Governorship election.
However, his opponents in the election, namely Senator Hope Uzodinma (APC), Chief Uche Nwosu (AA) and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume APC headed to the Tribunal to challenge the result.
After months of deliberations, the Imo Governorship Electoral Tribunal affirmed the declaration by INEC that Ihedioha won the Governorship election.
But not satisfied by the Tribunal Verdict, the trio of Araraume, Uzodinma and Nwosu yet again proceeded to the Appeal Court praying the Court to reverse the INEC and Tribunal victories of Ihedioha and PDP.
Therefore, today, the long awaited Appeal Court judgment would be announced.
Meanwhile, there is apprehension in all the camps, as they wait eagerly for the judgment which will shake the foundation of Imo State, no matter which side the pendulum swings today.
