Even as the three candidates of other political parties who have been challenging the conduct of election that produced governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State are set to take their matter to the supreme court  for final adjudication, the PDP candidate have reiterated that there was no fraud in the polls he emerged governor.
Apparently worried by the insistence of the three party candidates; Senator Ifeanyi Araraume of APGA, APC’s Hope Uzodinma and Uche Nwosu of AA to take their appeal to Supreme Court, Ihedioha argues that no illicit act took place to bring him into power.
This claim was part of the highlights of a parley the governor had with journalists in Imo State on Sunday night in Owerri.
According to him, he is the one that would have even complained because the expected number of votes entitled to him were not counted.
Speaking on reasons why people of the state rejected the immediate past administration to vote for him, Ihedioha said that Imo was devastated before I came in “it was in a mess. Imo people wanted me because of what happened in the past. They want to correct the ills of the past. For instance, in the civil service, there was no due process and laid down procedures were not followed.
“You will see a level 13 officer appointed permanent secretary against his seniors or superiors. And this led to disorder in the system”.
On what he encountered since becoming governor, Ihedioha lamented on infrastructural challenges ranging from collapsed roads to arrears of workers’ salaries to garnishe orders placed on Imo accounts.
