ICAPS President condemns protest threats

The President Imo College of Arts and Professional Studies (ICAPS) Mr. David Day has condemned the action of his students in the campus who have threatened to storm the streets of Owerri in the name of strike action against the management and the state government.

Mr. Day who spoke to Imo trumpeta said the students are getting it wrong, by threaten to go on strike against the promises of the state governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha who had ordered for the importation of the equipments for the institution.  He said soon NDI nondestructive technological equipments will be made available.

He said the actions about the students were all plans set by political detractors whose intention is to destabilize the progress of the government.

He said “what the students are saying is falsehood. ICAPS was instituted by Owelle Okorocha who meant well for the state to train professionals in different and professional capacity to fit in into employment request of oil firms operating in the state.

He said it is unfair and for people with dubious intentions to disorganize the good initiative of the governor.  He called on the students to calm such action by exhibiting patience.  He assured that sooner or later all equipment promised by the government will be installed to enhance their learning process.
