The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) PDP senatorial aspirant and multi millionaire business mogul, Prince Ugochukwu Nwachukw( Ugo Sly), has dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Ugo Sly was received on Tuesday by the chairman of APC Imo State, Prince Marcelinus Nlemigbo at the party secretariat Owerri.
Prince Lemmy Akakem, an APC Apex leader in Owerri Zone while handing over the defector to the state Chairman and other party faithful welcomed his defection and noted that the APC had caught a big fish.
Akakiem said, “With his defection and many others to APC, PDP is completely dead in Owerri zone because Ugo Sly is a big fish in politics, industry and national discuss”
Receiving the defectors, the Chairman of APC, Imo State, Prince Marcelinus
Nlemigbo , presented the broom to him as logo and identity of the ruling party.
Expressing his happiness, the chairman of APC Imo State, commended those who made Ugo Sly defection possible. He further advice them to go for more people, so as to make the party stronger and strengthen to face the oppositions.
Briefing newsmen shortly after the defection exercise, Hon John Eke, Mbaitoli LGA Chairman commended Ugo Sly for taking the right decision at the appropriate time, urging him to contribute his quota to the development of the state and the party.
Hon Eke who was full of joy describes the gale of detection of PDP bigwigs to APC in Owerri Zone as the answer to his prayers.
He described Ugo Sly as a fish and a jolly good fellow whose impact and contribution will make the party stronger to face the oppositions.
Addressing APC faithful during the exercise, Ugo Sly assured the mammoth crowd that he would ensure the success of the party during the forthcoming elections.
The Umuezelaji Umuezelakpa Alaeze Ogwa in Ogwa Ward 2 Mbaitoli LGA born philanthropist said,” I’m very pleased with your warm reception and wish to notify all that I’m delighted to be here. I have registered in my ward and pleased to announce that I’m now a full member of APC”
He said he was attracted to the party because of Gov Hope Uzodinma”s giant stride achievement in the state, especially in the area of roads construction in Owerri zone, assuring that he would contribute his quota to the development of the party and state.
His words, “am overwhelmed by the grand reception I received from a party am just joining, honour is not bought but is aimed only, no development without the wheel of progress, when APC unite strongly then they will win big,”
