The Executive of All Progressives Congress (APC) of Atonerim Ward in Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area (LGA) Imo State, has distanced themselves from a publication in an Owerri based tabloid, where some people hired by the suspended member of Imo State House of Assembly respresnting Ihitte-Uboma Constituency, Honourable Michael Onyemaechi Njoku (aka Crown), claimed to have passed vote of confidence in him.
A press release signed by the Chairman of APC Atonerim Ward, Honourable Okebalam Campos and other 26 Executive members, recounted alleged numerous ant-party and unparliamentary actions of the suspended legislator including accused hosting a political party meeting in his house in Umuderim attended by members and stakeholders of Action Alliance (AA), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and members of other political parties.
The meeting, said to be endorsed by a former Special Adviser during  the Ohakim administration, and ardent follower and Chief Campaign coordinator of a Senatorial candidate in the last Imo North Senatorial election, was chaired by  a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Chief Coordinator of a Governorship candidate campaign during the gubernatorial election of 2019.
According to the release, the aim of the meeting was allegedly to solidify strategies that will be used to mar the progress of the APC in Ihitte Uboma LGA by hijacking the forthcoming APC congresses with their stooges, whom they will plant to also work against the government of Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The release further stated that during the meeting,  the  presiding Chairman,  and other Leaders present  poured invectives  on Gov. Uzodimma and Speaker of Imo House of Assembly, Rt Honourable Paul Emeziem because of the recent suspension of Hon. Njoku and five others over unparliamentary conducts.
The chairman and his group also declared their group’s loyalty to Chief Dan Nwafor and not Chief Barrister M. O. Nlemigbo.
Equally, the entire Local Government and Ward Executive of the alleged two major political parties together with other parties present during the meeting, passed a vote of confidence in suspended Hon. Njoku, which clarifies the fact openly and publicly that suspended Hon. Njoku is not a member of the APC.
Indeed, the APC in Atonerim Ward and Ihitte-Uboma at large commend the leadership of the State Legislature led by Rt Hon. Emeziem and the deputy Speaker Hon. Amara Iwauanyanwu for the wonderful decision to suspend Hon. Njoku for unparliamentary actions.
This confirms what the APC Atonerim Ward has been crying out loud since that Hon. Njoku is an agent of destabilization in Ihitte-Uboma APC, hence the ward and local government Executive  of the APC cannot pass vote of confidence in him because he has failed the people of Ihitte-Uboma Constituency.
Accordingly, the Executive and Leaders of APC Atonerim Ward in Ihitte-Uboma LGA, resolved to suspend Hon. M.O. Njoku from being member of the party over anti-party activities and he remains suspended.
The leaders of APC Atonerim Ward, equally resolved to give their unalloyed support to the government of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma and vowed to remain loyal to the leadership of the APC led by Prince M. Nlemigbo and to work for the growth of the party in the area.
