Private Sector Support: Leo Stan, Unoha Boost Imo Digital Economy, Donate Cash, Laptops

 His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma’s agenda of positioning Imo State as the leading digital economy of the nation and his goal of equipping Imolites with the fourth industrial revolution skill set received a tremendous boost as it currently enjoys a strong private sector buy- in.

 In line with the Imo Digital Economy Agenda’s ( I.D.E.A 2022- 2026) fifth pillar which is the partnership and Collaboration Pillar, the Ministry of Digital Economy and E-Government recently received N12.5m cash donation from  Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox  technologies Group to support the effort of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma in training and empowerment of Imolites with employability skills in emerging and mainstream technologies.

Zinox Technologies is one of Africa’s most integrated Information and Communication Technology (I.C.T) firm. It is the first Nigerian internationally certified  I.C.T firm and also was rated as Number one in Africa as a whole.

Owned by the one of the illustrious sons of Imo State, Leo Stan Ekeh, the Forbes rated billionaire and IT guru has supported the Imo digital initiative not just financially but has  job opportunities awaiting two hundred graduate trainees  of the Imoskillup project with specialization in phone repairs, digital marketing et cetera.

Another entrepreneur, Mr Innocent Chibuzor Unoha a tech enthusiast and philanthropist who is based in Istanbul, Turkey also donated ten (10) units of high end laptops to the Ministry in support of the SkillupImo initiative of Hope Uzodimma’s administration.

The Honorable Commissioner for Digital Economy and E-Government, Dr. Chimezie Amadi, who disclosed this in a Live radio programme at Heritage FM Owerri,  seized the opportunity to thank the donors while describing the support as a  good sign of public buy-in and embrace of the forward thinking and innovative leadership of the Hope Uzodimma’s administration.

He further called on other corporate bodies, illustrious sons and daughters of IMO state and well meaning Nigerians to come forward and support this noble project of rescuing our future generation and equip them with relevant digital skills.

Private sector partnership and collaboration in digital economy is very crucial as it drives businesses. Speeds up innovation, creates jobs, wealth, aids in building modern, sustainable and reliable infrastructure, and makes for cost efficient operations.
