POLICE, VIGILANTE CRACK DOWN ON INDIAN HEMP SYNDICATE

A joint team of  police and Imo Security Network (ISN) in Ahiazu Mbaise
LGA have raided an uncompleted building in Amuzi Umuoma Ogbe Ahiara and
confiscated ten bags of substance suspected to be Indian Hemp worth one
hundred and fifty thousand Naira.
The team also arrested three suspected racketeers of the substance –
Master Eberechi Egbula and Madubuchi Nwokoji both of Ogbe Ahiara Ahiazu
Mbaise LGA and Master Ekwezie Chimuanya of Ezinihitte LGA.
Commenting on the ring leader, Mr. Henry Nwosu (Alias Aboy Onyenna), the
the owner of the uncompleted building, Mr. Celestine Iheaturu and the
wife, Rose Iheaturu said to be greatly involved in the illict deal, the
LGA ISN Co-ordinator, Mr. Enyiribe Enyi stated that dragnets have been
spread and promised that they would soon be tracked down.
Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor on
security, Bar. Okey Okorocha has commended the synergy between the
police and Imo Security Network and called for collaboration of
stakeholders in the fight to reduce crime to the barest minimum.
He underscored the essence of intelligent information gathering and
reassured the public quick response and utmost confidentiality on
reports of suspicious movements in their neighbourhoods.
The SSA restated commitment of Imo Rescue Mission Government to the
protection of lives and properties of the citizenry and pledged to
sustain the low crime rate in the state.
