The Court of Appeal Owerri Imo State could not sit yesterday as scheduled, as the court has vacated for the Easter break/holidays.
All the interested parties that had trouped to the Okigwe Road premises of the court were turned back in disappointment when they were told that the court will not sit.
The bone of contention in the court is the legal and constitutional interpretation of the 6th May 2011 supplementary election sorted by ACN & Ararume against INEC in suit No CA/101/12 which Okorocha and APGA joined as interested parties. However, both PDP and Ikedi Ohakim has been granted the opportunity to join also as interested parties by the Court of Appeal which was opposed by the joinders of Okorocha and APGA.
Had the court sat yesterday, it would have considered the consolidation of all issues both preliminary objection and substantive matter to facilitate accelerated hearing.
However, the case will be coming on the 22nd of April according to reliable source from the court.
