Community Extols Okorocha For Appointing their Son SOLAD

The People of Umuna/Uzubi have been assured of government resolve to ensure that the issue of flooding in the area becomes a thing of the past. The Sole Administrator of Orlu LGA, Chief Barr. Hyacinth Mbachu gave this assurance when the people of Umuna/Uzubi town development union, Owerri branch called on him at the council’s headquarter, Orlu.

Chief Mbachu expressed delight at the visit, pointing that the present government is desirous to turn Orlu into a model city. He enjoined the people to demonstrate their appreciation by supporting the Rescue Mission government in all ramifications.

On road construction, Chief Hyacinth stated that over 40k/ms of road is being tarred at Orlu, of which Umuna and Uzubi got a fair share of it. The SOLAD encouraged Umuna people to support the community government council which has the capacity of unlocking the potentials in Umuna as the community is well situated. He urged them to sensitize and encourage their children in diaspora to come home and invest as the Owelle Rochas Okorocha government has set the pace through CGC.

Chief Mbachu equally expressed his joy over the payment of counterpart fund of two hundred and fifty thousand naira by the community, while urging them to make good use of the one million naira being given by the government.

Responding, the chairman of the group, Chief Ndubuisi Adioha expressed their appreciation to the governor for appointing a worthy son of Umuna as the SOLAD pointing that since the creation of Orlu Umuna has never been privileged to produce a chairman except now. Contributing, the GLO of the area, Chief Joseph Okwara recalled that Owelle Rochas Okorocha promised them during the campaign that he will appoint an Umuna son as chairman. He pledged the loyalty and co-operation of his people to the rescue mission government.

In a vote of thanks, Chief Edward Eririogu, a former permanent secretary and commissioner in judicial service commission called on the state government to prevail on Power Holdings Company of Nigeria to restore electricity supply to Orlu town disconnected six months ago  in seeing that power holding  restores light which has been off for six months in Orlu.
