Refuse has taken over the World Bank Market in Owerri Municipal Council, Imo state just as the contractor who is responsible for the carting away the dirts has been accused of negligence of duty following the way he is handling the job and the spot the bucket bins were normally kept.
Our reporter who visited the area, was told by a woman trader in the market  that the contractor whom she said is a while man is not living up to expectation and called on the government of Imo state led by Owelle Rocchas Okorocha to revoke the contract and award it to a more serious person, adding that his attitude is causing much harm on the health of the traders and patronizes the market.
It was gathered that, the waste bin bucket was kept near the junction where the market is situated, as against near the over-head tanks where it was supposedto be. A situation which it was said had been severally complained of by the residents of the area.
At the junction, where the refuse bin is located is a kerosene depot, but due to refuse bin, buyers have deserted the place when contacted, the lady who claimed to be the owner of the kerosene selling point referred our reporter to the person in charge of the market, who could not be reached as at the time of filling this report.
However, most of the people spoken to were of the view, that the waste bucket bins be relocated to its normal position, and called on government to warn the contractor to sit up and make sure that dirts are only thrown away at nights so as to enable traders carry out their business.
