Umueze11 Community Launches N35.5 Million Naira to Rescue Healthcare Centre

Sequel to the deplorable condition of the primary Healthcare centre built by the concerted efforts of Umueze 11 citizens in Ehime Mbano council area of Imo state three decades ago, the current leadership of the community last weekend raised N35.5 million naira launching ceremony to correct the sorry condition of the hospital.
In an address presented at the event by Umueze11 Town which was read by the secretary of the launching committee, Mr Sixtus Njoku, he said Umueze11 community built the primary Healthcare centre about three decades ago with necessary facilities and handed it over to the state government in order to perfect its effective and efficient operation but later regretted as it was abandoned by the government.
He revealed that it is pitiable that Umueze people in search of medical attention including pregnant women need proper antenatal and post natal care go about 20 kilometres away for medical treatment because of absence adequate medical facilities and personnels in the centre which has led to loss of uncountable lives to minor diseases and road mishaps. He further disclosed that the community is in dire need of an effective hospital in order to checkmate premature and preventable diseases that is claiming lives of the people in the area adding that Chief Barry Japhet Anyanwu has done well in championing the course of revitalizing the hospital.
It would be recalled that the presence of the project Director of ken Ojiri foundation who is also the coordinator of Rebuild Nigeria Initiative, Imo state chapter, Chief Canice Nkemjika Okorie and his entourage added weight to the occasion as the scenario was electrifying when he pledged to donate the sum of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) for the renovation of the primary Healthcare project.
Earlier, the Town Union president, Chief Japhet Anyanwu who is fondly called chocomilo noted that the healthy-being of his people remains paramount, adding that he has summoned all concerned citizens of the community to discuss the way forward for the revitalization of the hospital. Chief Anyanwu assured his people that work will commence at the hospital soon. He commended his people for their support.
In his contribution, one of the concerned citizens in the community, Evan Ifeanyi Moses called on the present Rescue Mission government in Imo state to come to the aide of the community by raising fund that would help them to renovate the hospital. Evangelist Moses thanked the Town Union president Chief Anyanwu for his meaningful contribution to the development of Umueze11 so far.
