Meets With Constituents Raises Co-ordinators For APC Platform
As events leading to 2015 general election begin to manifest daily, discordant tunes seem to be oozing out from egg heads of All Progressives Congress, APC in Imo State and top public office holders in the state.
While there were unconfirmed reports that Governor Okorocha may go for another term based on recent utterances that it would take him more than eight years to accomplish the Rescue Mission job he began two years ago, his Deputy and ally, Prince Eze Madumere is reportedly surveying the political landscape to run for 2015 governorship race.
Indications that Madumere may likely vie for the 2015 race manifested recently when he invited constituents to award rally in his Ezinihitte INEC Ward, Mbaitoli LGA, where he opened up on Imo Governorship seat.
To drum APC support to his grassroots, an invitation was sent to people of Ezinihitte Ward in Achi Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA from the Deputy Governor’s camp. At the meeting which was attended by many stakeholders from the area, Madumere who requested for the support and cooperation of his immediate constituents for his ambition and well being of the party in the area allegedly enticed them with the privileged information of his next political ambition.
Madumere’s next political destination was received with warm felicitations by the constituents who got enticed by the Deputy Governor’s new disposition.
Some of the Deputy Governor’s constituents who witnessed the event however expressed surprise that their kinsman may be selling a dummy of hooking them with APC using “guber” interest. However, to strengthen his ambition, coordinators were raised for the APC structure in the area.
Trumpeta however learnt that the fact that other political heavy weights with different political backgrounds such as Marcon Nlemigbo, Humphrey Anumudu, Kezie Ogwuchi, and Temple Ogueri Onyeukwu hail from the same political ward with Madumere may have informed the Deputy Governor to begin early race for possible ways of asserting influence and getting the interest of the masses in the ward ahead next general election.
Indications that Achi Mbieri will be a flash point in 2015 elections came with the story that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP office in the Ward was vandalized a few days after members of All Progressives Congress, APC numbering over hundred joined the PDP. Accusing fingers have been pointed at the direction of APC as the alleged perpetrators of the act.
Meanwhile, Madumere’s rumoured ambition is said to have put his mentor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha on edge, and it is said that the Governor has set up a secret group to monitor all Madumere’s steps. Such development, it was learnt, indicates that Madumere may not have consulted his Boss before calling the “Ezinihitte caucus” meeting.
A source told Trumpeta that Madumere may have read his Boss wrongly, by believing that Okorocha’s open confession to some of his close aides that he would run just one term was true, not knowing that the Governor was just flying a Kite, as he sets his gaze on Imo Guber 2015.
A source had told this Newspaper some weeks again that Okorocha had scolded his Deputy for his perceived ambition in 2015, by laying structures for 2015 Imo Guber, without reading his body language.
However, it was learnt that Okorocha’s confusion of not knowing what really he want to contest in 2015 has put his Aides who are interested in Imo Guber in a quagmire.
It was learnt that about a few months ago, when Okorocha was still sure of moving to the presidency for either the presidential or vice ticket, had called three of his close Aides differently and promised to hand over them in 2015, with none knowing that the Governor had made the same promise to each of them.
But as it stands now, Trumpeta learnt that Okorocha has made up his mind to run again in 2015 Imo Guber. This, pundits say, may pit him against his stooge, Prince Eze Madumere, who now dreams of succeeding his Boss in 2015.
