A group by name, Rochas Okorocha Destiny Allies, RODA, has appealed to the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to forget any ambition that may take him away to Abuja in 2015, but should remain in Owerri, Imo State and finish the good work.
Speaking to Journalists in Owerri, Imo State yesterday, the State Coordinator and Okigwe Zonal Leader of RODA, Chief Don Onwukaike who said one good term deserves another, maintained that Okorocha should remain in Owerri and finish the stupendous projects he had started, as a new Governor may abandon the laudable projects.
The RODA Chieftain maintained that the philosophy behind the Group is to persuade Okorocha to run again in 2015 Imo Governorship, pointing out that the Body had consulted widely and the general affirmation from the three political zones of Imo State is that Okorocha should continue the good job.
He said that RODA is not an affiliate of any political party but cuts across all spheres of the society from Police, Military, Civil Servants, Traders, Clergy, Students, Journalists, etc, who are Nigerians and carrying voters card.
He said that the mission of RODA is to ensure a House to House Campaign for Okorocha in 2015 and support the Government of accountability, rule of Law, development, progress and peace that is presently in Imo State.
The Coordinator said that to achieve its goals, RODA has been established in all the Wards, and twenty seven LGAs in the state, adding that zoning should be done away with in 2015, as the best should be given the opportunity to pilot the affairs of Imo State.
“Zoning is undemocratic and gives room for mediocrity. I am from Okigwe Zone, but I believe that the best should be allowed to continue to develop Imo State”, Onwukaike disclosed.
He said that even though Orlu man is in power now in Imo State, Okigwe Zone has never been so fortunate as projects are today springing up everywhere in the zone.
He disclosed that RODA is not stopping any body from challenging the Governor for the coveted position. But such a person must provide his track records for all to see, pointing out that Okorocha’s achievements speak for him, and therefore makes the job easier for RODA in 2015.
Present at the occasion include Deacon Ideato C Ideato Okolie, the State Deputy Coordinator and Orlu Zone Leader, and Hon Paschal Ugwuanya Nze, Owerri Zonal Leader.
