Poly Nekede Department Competition Enters knock – out stage
The 2012 edition of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede department games entered into the knock – out stage on Thursday (yesterday) with very interesting ties as the pretenders are being separated from the real contenders.
In the first encounter Agric, Econs took on Banking and finance in the school main field marketing squared up against Computer Science in the mile 2 playing ground. The remaining two encounters on Thursday saw purchasing and supply department engage SUG in the main school field while Mech.Engine traded tackles with C/E, although the results of those games were not available to Imo Trumpeta as at press time.
Today’s fixtures will see A/R take on Building Technology in the school field as Estate Management and CTE will square up in the second knock – out game of the day while in the last game will be between Office and Technology and Management taking on the best losing team of the first round games that started on Tuesday till Wednesday.
Speaking to Imo Trumpeta the students Director of Sports Comrade Njoku Uche Febian expressed his happiness over the level of competition and seriousness attached to the activity starting that the football competition is part of the students’ week activities that started last week.
