The case between the immediate past Governor of Imo State, Dr Ikedi Ohakim, and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC will resume on November 12, 2015 at an Abuja High Court.
When the matter came up for hearing on Tuesday, Ohakim’s Lawyer, Chief Goddy Uche(SAN) sought for an adjournment to allow for cross-examinations which the Judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola granted.
Ohakim is in court following a case of money laundering slammed on him by EFCC following alleged purchase of a house in Abuja for the sum of (N270m) two hundred and seventy million Naira.
The EFCC is alleging that the former Governor lied in his deposition in court, as against his earlier statement that the said building was rented.
However, on Nov 21, 2015 at the second hearing, Ohakim’s Lawyer, Uche(SAN) will cross-examine one Abu Sule who alleged that he rented the said house located at 60, Kweme Nkurumah Street, Asokoro Abuja, through Tweenex Consciates.
