Hon, Barr Uche Onyeagocha who was arrested by the police on alleged involvement on electoral matters has been released.
Onyeagocha who worked for the Peoples Democratic Party, candidate, Chief Emeka Ihedioha and others were said to have disrupted electoral proceedings at the INEC Collation Centre located along Owerri PortHarcourt road.
He was first arrested and charged to court but regained his freedom on Tuesday after he was granted bail by the Magistrate court in Owerri.
Before leaving the court premises Chief Onyeagocha addressed the press stating that, his action was meant to defend democracy and to fight for Justice.
“I have no regret for what I did at INEC office” Uche Onyeagocha declared.
Speaking further, he thanked Imolites for coming out to vote for Emeka Ihedioha. Paschal Onwukaike and Steve Asimobi who supported Uche Nwosu were arrested on the same matter and subsequently released.
It was learnt that, Onwukaike and Asimobi sustained serious injury on their body and are currently receiving treatment.
