OWERRI-WEST ACCORD PARTY ADOPTS HON UGOCHUKWU DURU OF APP AS HER SOLE CANDIDATE OF HOUSE Of ASSEMBLY.

The Owerri-west Accord Party(AC) has adopted Hon Ugochukwu Duru (Ochinanwata) Of Action Peoples Party(APP) OF UMUNWOHA Bloc as her candidate for Imo House of Assembly Owerri WEST CONSTITUENCY.

Speaking at a forum in Owerri, the leader of the delegation and also the Owerri-west Action Party Chairman, Hon Prince Nkem Okenwa, said the Party decided to adopt Ochinanwata because it has no candidate for House of Assembly in Owerri-west.

Hon Okenwa, who is also the Chairman of all Chairmen OF The Accord Party in the State revealed that Accord Party placed all candidates of Owerri-west extraction vying for House of Assembly on a Simple scale of preference and later settled for Hon Chief Ugochukwu Duru (Ochinanwata) as the most credible.

He said that another factor that informed the decision of his over five thousand members was the issue of Owerri-west charter of equity in which the Umunwoha bloc was shortchanged, describing the development as an unfair treatment for the Umunwoha bloc.

In his reply, the Owerri-west APP House of Assembly candidate, Hon Chief Ugochukwu Duru (Ochinanwata) said he was overwhelmed by the magnanimity of the Owerri-west Accord Party by the support.

Ochinanwata restated that Owerri-west politics has been unfair to the Umunwoha bloc and called on other parties in Umunwoha bloc to close ranks by supporting APP in the House of Assembly election as a way of expressing their displeasure for the collapsed charter of equity.

The APP candidate pointed out that the modern day politics now talks of personality and not party and described himself as most credible amongst all the candidates jostling for the Owerri-west House of Assembly seat. He assured, “vote for me, I won’t disappoint you”.

He also appealed to Accord Party to also support his Principal, the APP State party bearer, Dr Mazi Matthew Amadi (Gburugburu).

An APP ward ten party stalwart, Hon Chidi Unakalamba and the ward ten APP Coordinator as well as “Ugochinyere Mandate” media Director, Hon. Clinton Duru were present on the occasion.
